Miami Dolphins’ Forgotten Rookie Could Change the Offense

The Miami Dolphins are getting prepared to enter their final preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday, August 28.

This matchup will be pivotal point for many player fighting for their future and showing they deserve to Miami’s roster. For one other player, it will be their first game of the season in which they can prove their worth immediately and make their case to be Miami’s WR1. That player is Chris Bell.

Chris Bell’s Return Is Happening At the Perfect Time

Miami selected Bell with the 94th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, but he was viewed originally as a long-term investment as his late-season knee injury created doubts about his 2026 season. Bell was officially activated from the non-football injury list on August 17, and the Dolphins already feel confident in Bell that they have him playing in the game against the Falcons.

At 6’2, 228 pounds, Bell provides something different to Miami’s receiving room compared to the rest of the receivers they currently have. He can operate as a traditional receiver while also being a contact receiver that fights through contested situations.

With Miami’s receiver room still unsettled and looking for a receiver to step up into the vacant WR1 role, if Bell comes out and immediately impresses he could set himself up well to take over that role immediately.
