After a series of rumors surfaced suggesting that De’Von Achane would be the last piece the Miami Dolphins would trade to go all-in on rebuilding, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that teams calling for the running back were told he wasn’t available.

Several teams could use Achane’s services, including the Green Bay Packers, who could replace Josh Jacobs with the younger player. The defending Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks, also called to ask for the 24-year-old.

As attractive as he is to plenty of teams, it won’t be easy to land Achane. Nevertheless, he could be available for the right price, according to the latest information.

On Friday, NFL insider Mike Florio shed light on the Dolphins’ apparent reluctance to ship De’Von Achane. Florio believes that the Dolphins’ approach isn’t as simple as they make it look.

“I think when the team says he’s not available, what they mean is they’re not going to trade him for any of the offers they’ve received,” Florio said during an appearance on 104.3 WQAM.

“This is the time of year when offers circulate for many players who ultimately aren’t traded. General managers talk constantly, so they’ve surely seen offers for De’Von Achane, but none have been strong enough. Based on what they’ve received so far, they’re not making a move.”

Additionally, the fact that they paid Achane a ton of money after restructuring his contract makes it hard for the Dolphins to let go of their only offensive star so easily. Opposing teams will need to break the bank to land Achane.
