Miami Dolphins reunite with a familiar face while also answering a curious question from cut down day
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

A couple of former Miami Dolphins are current ones again on Thursday.

The team announced that is has re-signed long snapper Blake Ferguson to the roster.  The team also reportedly added WR Robbie Chosen to the practice squad.

Ferguson appeared to be a roster lock without competition throughout camp.  However, a few heads were left scratching when he was not on the team's initial 53-man roster on Tuesday.

But then again, the Dolphins aren't like most teams.  They don't share that luxury of health.  Indeed, the Dolphins had a number of players who've been suffering injuries, and the spaces are only so many on the active roster.  They had to be carried on the active roster, and that left Ferguson for the shortest of times without a football home.

As such, the corresponding move for Ferguson's addition was the transfer of rookie safety Patrick McMorris to the reserve/injured list.

Miami also brought back another face Miami fans will recognize, reportedly agreeing to a deal with WR Robbie Chosen for its practice squad per multiple outlets.

Chosen didn't do all that much last year during his time in Miami.  He caught 4 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown.  Most of that came on a 68-yard touchdown in Miami's 70-20 thrashing of the Denver Broncos last September.

However, Miami is in need of experienced (and healthy) wideouts right now as they deal with injuries at the position.  With Chosen and Erik Ezukanma both available now on the practice squad, that makes things slightly better with their season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars just around the corner.
