Miami Dolphins Sign Malik Willis
The Miami Dolphins have agreed to terms with free agent quarterback Malik Willis.
The deal is for 3 years, with $67.5 million total, $45 million guaranteed.
The deal will become official on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Eastern time.
As the Dolphins announced they are moving on from Tua Tagovailoa, they now have Tua’s replacement in Willis.
This signing is for decent money, but it doesn’t stop Miami for drating a quarterback in Round 1 next season if Willis falls on his face and isn’t good in 2026.
I am sure the Dolphins coaches and front office will say Willis is going to compete with Quinn Ewers in camp, but let’s be honest, with the money Willis just got paid, there is no competition.
Willis is Miami’s starting quarterback in 2026.
I also fully expect Miami to draft a quarterback in this years upcoming draft, and they could take one as early as round 3.

Will is 6’1″ tall and 225 lbs.
He is a former 3rd round pick by the Tennessee Titans in 2022.
In 2024, the Green Bay Packers traded a 7th-round pick to acquire Willis, and there are multiple reports that Jon-Eric Sullivan pushed the Packers to make that trade.
The reason Green Bay was able to get Willis for only a 7th-round pick is that his time with the Titans was forgettable.
He played in 11 games, started three, and the team was 1-2 in those starts.
And the stat line was ugly to say the least.
Zero touchdowns and three interceptions.
When Malik Willis got to Green Bay, though, he flipped the script.
He played 11 games, the same number he played with the Titans.
He started the same number of games, 3.
The team was 2-1 in games he started, and he threw three touchdowns and had zero interceptions.
Not to mention, in 2024 and 2025, he ran for over 100 rushing yards in each season.
And a stat that is eye-opening, with the Packers in 2024, the completion % for Willis was 74.1%, and in 2025 it was a whopping 85.7%.
Many people see Malik Willis as a fast-rising stock with significant untapped potential.
Jon-Eric Sullivan was the key figure in bringing Willis to Green Bay.
And recently, Miami hired Titans’ former GM Jon Robinson, who drafted Willis out of college.
So the people who know Willis best from a front office standpoint are all in Miami.
Not to mention the Miami Dolphins’ new head coach, Jeff Hafley.
Even though Hafley coached defense in Green Bay, he said he has a great relationship with Willis because, for many games, Willis was the scout team quarterback and Hafley would prep him each week to help his defense prepare for that week’s games.
Hafley has said nothing but glowing things about Willis, calling him easy to coach and work with.
