Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill receives apology from Indianapolis Colts after being butt of joke in deleted viral schedule release video

The Miami Dolphins didn't really need any added motivation for their season-opening matchup with the Indianapolis Colts on September 7 at Lucas Oil Field.  After all, Miami's 16-10 loss to the Colts put them behind the eight ball for the playoff race, which the Dolphins fell just short of.

However, Indianapolis provided Miami's best player with some additional incentive when the two teams take the field, despite their attempts to walk it back.

The schedules for all teams were revealed last night for the 2025 season, and as has become prevalent in recent years, teams' social media groups have put together creative videos for those reveals.

That includes the Colts, who originally put out a Minecraft-themed video for all 18 weeks.  That included the first part of the video, which depicted Tyreek Hill as an actual Dolphin getting arrested by the Coast Guard.

The video also took personal shots at other players, with Arizona QB Kyler Murray riding a chicken and Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes depicted as a frog - presumably "Kermit the Frog" - while standing between his father and John Rocker, who had a viral scuffle in New Orleans before Super Bowl LIX.

The Colts ended up taking that video down after about an hour and putting up another less offensive one shortly thereafter.  However, per ESPN Colts reporter Stephen Holder, the team still issued an apology to Microsoft - for whom they say they exceeded their rights with - and to Hill for an "insensitive clip".

Hill has certainly drawn a good bit of attention for his run ins with the law over the last 8 calendar months.  In September, on the way to the season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Hard Rock Stadium, Hill was arrested, handcuffed, and detained by police during a traffic stop near the stadium.  Video footage of the arrest went viral, although he was eventually released and allowed to leave.  The citations for careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt were ultimately dismissed after the officers failed to appear in court

Last month, Hill was involved in an apparent dispute with his wife at their condominium, which resulted in the police being called to the scene.  However, no arrest was made nor charges brought.

Hill and the Dolphins will be looking for a big bounce back in 2025 after a pedestrian offensive outing in 2024.  Hill finished with just 959 receiving yards last year, the fewest since 2019, after pushing for 2000 yards for most of 2023.

Thanks to, let's say, an eyebrow-raising social media post from his next opponent, it certainly looks like he'll have added motivation for a strong start.

UPDATE (12:20 pm ET): Hill put up a post on Twitter/X, and he claims they should have left it up, that it was funny.
