The Micah Parsons contract extension impasse with the Dallas Cowboys reached an unfortunate low Friday after the superstar edge rusher grew tired of the slow-moving tendencies of the front office.
After months of pleading for the Cowboys to extend their best player and numerous examples of Parsons trying to keep a positive image through his leadership actions, Micah had no choice but to issue a trade request in the hope of getting something moving.

This leaves the Cowboys with two options: either they give in and finally contact Parsons' agent and sign him as the highest-paid non-quarterback in history, or they do the unspeakable and backtrack on their word by trading him - the most extreme measure and one that is still unlikely, despite this public statement.
Regardless of how this week transpires, there is nearly a month left of the offseason and anything can happen.
If Micah does in fact want to leave Dallas and the Cowboys feel there's nothing left to do but move him, we might as well consider some possible trade partners.
Bleacher Report cooked up a shocking proposal that would send not just one, but two disgruntled pass rushers to a different team.
Writer Kristopher Knox picks the Cowboys to make a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals to land 30-year-old defensive end Trey Hendrickson, who is exercising a "hold in" of his own in Cincy as he demands a new contract, in exchange for Parsons.
Full Trade Proposal
CIN gets: Micah Parsons
DAL gets: Trey Hendrickson, 2026 first-round draft pick, 2026 second-round pick, two future third-round picks
This is a potential earth-shaking deal in a swap of two of the game's best at getting to the quarterback. However, this swap seems pretty redundant.
Hendrickson is up for a new deal just like Micah ... and he's nearly just as deserving, if not more.
Both teams would have to unload their pockets the same way in either case. At that point, they might as well keep their guy! What's the point of trading one headache-inducing situation for another?
Hendrickson has totaled 17.5 sacks (led NFL in 2024) each of the last two seasons - the most of any player in that span. Parsons is on a tear of four straight 12+ sack seasons to start his career and remains one of the fastest rushers off the edge the game has ever seen.
For Dallas, the draft capital is a sweetener in this deal, but surely not enough to combat the risk of taking on an already angry Hendrickson. Maybe a change of scenery eases his tensions, but he's still going to be in pursuit of a massive raise, with as much long-term security as possible to match.
Money wise, Hendrickson's terms will likely be less expensive than Parsons', but not by much given he is in his current prime athletically.
His age, however, is simply not something the Cowboys should invest in over the 26-year-old Parsons ... and again, there is no indication Dallas wants to move Micah to begin with.
“The Bengals don’t want to commit to a 30-year-old defender long-term on a top-of-the-market deal," Knox says. "But they might feel differently about committing to a 26-year-old perennial Pro Bowler..."
Well yeah ... wouldn't the Cowboys, too?
Until Parsons' future is decided, Cowboys Nation can expect a daily supply of these types of predictions, proposals and takes regarding a trade.
But this one surely takes the cake (for now) as the one that would cause the most shockwaves.
