The Green Bay Packers went all-in by acquiring All-Pro edge-rusher Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys, and he has made an instant impact on their bombastic 2-0 start to the season.

Through the first two weeks of the season, Parsons has already posted 1.5 sacks with nine pressures, including several that either stopped drives on third downs. And a pressure of Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff resulted in an Evan Williams interception.

Parsons, too, might influence general manager Brian Gutekunst and the Packers to strike another major trade.

Packers could trade Romeo Doubs at the deadline

ESPN’s Dan Graziano suggests that, despite uncertainty at wide receiver following Jayden Reed’s injury, which could sideline him for two months, and Christian Watson still working his way back from a torn ACL, wide receiver Romeo Doubs could be on the move.

According to Graziano, one of the impetuses of trading Doubs could be to recoup some of the draft capital used to acquire Parsons (two first-round picks sent to the Cowboys).

“Right now, with Christian Watson and Jayden Reed out because of injuries, it’s not an issue,” Graziano writes for ESPN. “But when and if those guys get back, it could be tough to find opportunities for everybody, considering they have Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks and first-round rookie Matthew Golden also in the mix. This room is crowded enough that former wide receiver Bo Melton switched to cornerback this offseason just to make the team.

“Doubs is a name that came up in trade discussions during the offseason and certainly could again once the Packers are whole and teams come looking for help at the position. Green Bay could stand to recoup some draft capital after the Micah Parsons trade, and Doubs is making a very reasonable $3.406 million on the final year of his contract. He has clipped 600 receiving yards in each of his past two seasons, and he has 96 yards and a touchdown through two games in 2025.”

If first-round rookie Matthew Golden continues to emerge as a reliable deep threat for quarterback Jordan Love, and the Packers get some of their most consistent pass catchers back from injury, dealing Doubs would make a lot of sense for Gutekunst.

Offloading Doubs to acquire a draft pick would create some flexibility to move around the board next spring while clearing a potential logjam at receiver.

With the NFL trade deadline set for Nov. 4, Doubs could be a fascinating name to watch for Green Bay.
