Micah Parsons remains on the sideline after four weeks of the 2026 NFL season as the Green Bay Packers continue to wait for their star defensive end to complete his recovery. Parsons is working his way back from the torn ACL and meniscus damage he suffered in Week 15 last season against the Denver Broncos and underwent surgery on Dec. 29.

While the Packers continue to wait on Parsons’ recovery, they have also been plagued by injuries across the roster, with some forcing season-ending decisions. Wide receiver Jayden Reed underwent season-ending neck surgery earlier this month, while tackle Zach Bako-Bewele was also lost for the season before Edgerrin Cooper became the latest major blow.

The latest setback came Sunday when Cooper suffered a non-contact left Achilles injury during Green Bay’s 17-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

An MRI confirmed Monday that the 24-year-old linebacker will miss the remainder of the season (via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport). Cooper had nine tackles, a sack and an interception before leaving the game.

After the news broke, Cooper addressed the injury on Instagram with a powerful message:

“Can’t hold a soldier down forever ! ”

Cooper’s post drew several reactions from fans and teammates, including Parsons, who responded emotionally on his Instagram Story with one word: “Facts .”

The Packers will now have to adjust again as they enter Week 5 at 2-2 following their win over Tampa Bay. Green Bay will host the Chicago Bears, who enter the matchup at 3-1, while the Packers work through Cooper’s absence and several other injuries. Isaiah McDuffie and Ty’Ron Hopper are expected to take on larger roles at linebacker.

Parsons, meanwhile, remains unavailable. Head coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that Parsons will not return to practice this week, despite being eligible to come off the physically unable to perform list.
