Micah Parsons is bullish about CeeDee Lamb's place among NFL's best WRs

Earlier this year, All-Pro cornerback-turned-broadcaster Richard Sherman put Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb on blast, stating the 24-year-old wideout was not a legitimate No. 1 receiver in the NFL.

Two and a half months later, it’s safe to say that Lamb has not only proved Sherman wrong, he’s also worked his way into the conversation for best receiver in the NFL — a sentiment his teammate Micah Parsons certainly shares.

“[He’s] the best receiver in the NFL,” Parsons said of Lamb on a recent episode of “The Edge” podcast. “Not top five, not top three, he's top two [and] not two. … He probably should be Offensive Player of the Year. CeeDee Lamb, congratulations brother — you're truly showing why you're the No. 1.”

Amid a breakout season, Lamb leads the NFL with 122 receptions and 29 receptions of 20 or more yards, and he ranks second in yards (1,651) and third in touchdowns (10). He also broke Michael Irvin’s franchise records for single-season receptions (111) and receiving yards (1,603).

Lamb is one of just two receivers — Tyreek Hill is the other — to average 100 or more yards per game, and he ranks third in yards after the catch (633), has the 10th-lowest drop percentage (3.9) and he’s tied for the 12th-most contested catches (11), per Pro Football Focus.

“There’s a lot of naysayers — I remember Richard Sherman earlier said he wasn’t even a top-five receiver,” Parsons added. “A lot of people said he couldn’t be a No. 1 with Amari Copper gone — CeeDee is still here, he continues to get better, and he’s having the year of his life.”
