The win Micah Parsons and the Green Bay Packers were looking for to get back on track after a Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns did not happen on Sunday.
They came close, but the Packers instead settled for a 40-40 tie with the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Although they escaped a loss, Parsons and company can’t be happy with their performance against Dallas’ Dak Prescott-led attack.
Green Bay’s defense was supposed to flash its sharp fangs and contain the Cowboys, especially since Dallas was missing star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. But the Cowboys found a way to light up Green Bay, as they hung 436 total yards on the visiting team’s defense.
The loss was an eye-opener for Parsons, who sent a clear message to his team after the game.
“Two things can happen,” Parsons said, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. “We can go in that locker room or we can go home, put our heads down and we just blame each other and point the finger. Or we can be men and we can say, ‘This is where I’m coming from. This is where you’re coming from and how do we fix it?’ I think we gotta be adults here. We gotta be professionals and we gotta find a way to be positive … We’re in a rough patch right here and we owe an obligation to ourselves.”
Parsons didn’t exactly shine on the field himself. While he had a sack and three quarterback hits, he only had three total tackles. As a team, Green Bay let Prescott pass for 319 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions.
