Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons' return to the field was generating enough headlines already as he finished with two sacks and a forced fumble against the Philadelphia Eagles, but his postgame locker room interview is guaranteed to generate a few more.
With the Cowboys at 3-6 and a head coach on the final year of his deal, it's the time of the year when even players are forced to field questions about the state of the locker room amid potential coaching changes down the line.
Parsons' comments on the matter caught many people's attention as he told reporters he hurt more for veterans on the team "who put in more time and work than Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy ever did." Below is the full quote.
"Mike can leave and go wherever he wants, guys I kind of feel bad for (are) guys like Zack Martin and guys who might be on their last year or on their way out," Parsons candidly said. "Because that's who I wanted to hold the trophy for. You want to win games and do great things with those type of legends who put in more time and work than Mike McCarthy ever did. Those are the kind of guys that I have so much sympathy and hurt for."

Parsons' intended meaning behind his message might've simply been to point out that in coaching, an individual can carry on easily compared to a player who is always trying to beat father time. It might've been nothing but an oddly put together comment.
However, it's difficult to ignore the bit about such veteran players putting in more work than their head coach "ever did." It might've been a slip-up or a sneak diss headed McCarthy's way.
The sequence only adds fuel to concerns that the Cowboys head coach might be losing his grasp on the locker room as his offense generated 146 yards of offense and turned the ball over five times.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters postgame that he wouldn't fire McCarthy midseason, adding that he has regretted every time he's done so.
"That's not enough, you need to give yourself a chance," Jones said. "I've had a lot more rope than that in my time."
