Michael Brockers had some explaining to do after the Los Angeles Ram traded Jared Goff to the Detroit Lions in exchange for Matthew Stafford.
Brockers said Stafford was a "level up" over Goff at the quarterback position. Soon after those comments, the Rams also traded Brockers to the Lions, reuniting him with Goff.
The 30-year-old spoke to reporters on Monday for the first time since the trade and admitted he reached out to Goff to make sure there were no hard feelings.
Michael Brockers said he texted Jared Goff, then later apologized to him again, after that TMZ video.

"I just wanted to come to him as a man and let him know that I have so much respect for him, that wasn't any shot against him -- just trying to pump up the Rams' (fan) base."
Brockers signed a three-year deal with the Rams last year and added that he was surprised to learn that he and Goff would be teammates again in 2021.
The 30-year-old recorded five sacks, 51 tackles and 10 quarterback hits in 2020. He'll be expected to put up similar numbers next season.
