Michael Vick tells Lamar Jackson to 'put a brace on it'

Lamar Jackson is set to miss yet another game for the Baltimore Ravens when they visit the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night for their Wild Card playoff game.

One former NFL quarterback, Michael Vick, thinks he should just put on his knee and get out there for the playoffs, saying he once played a full season on a sprained PCL.

Vick made the comment on Saturdays FOX pregame show.

Jackson was injured in early December against the Denver Broncos and has not played or practiced since. He Tweeted this week that his knee still does not feel stabilized and he does not feel fully confident playing on it.

When he was originally injured the Ravens gave no timeframe on his return only to say it was not season ending.

The Ravens have had to rely on backups Tyler Huntley and Anthony Brown since then, going 2-3 in Jackson's absence. The offense has badly struggled without him.

Adding to the intrigue with Jackson is that he is a pending unrestricted free agent after this season and was unable to come to terms with the team on a new contract before the season began.

Is he making the choice to not play to avoid further injury with such an unsettled contract situation? Only Jackson knows the answer to that. But it is really hard to judge a player for not playing when you are not in their shoes.

Rushing players back too soon or before they are fully healthy can have major long-term ramifications. With how much of an increased push there is for player safety, we probably should not get into the habit of rushing to judgement on why players are sitting.

His absence definitely hurts the Ravens. They would certainly like him back and absolutely need him back to win.

But if he is not 100 percent, he is not fully helping the team or himself.
