Michael Vick thinks Cowboys should target Panthers WR DJ Moore

The Carolina Panthers are clearly hitting the reset button after firing head coach Matt Rhule a few weeks ago. With that in mind, can the Dallas Cowboys be the beneficiary of a potential fire sale out east?

Former NFL quarterback turned analyst, Michael Vick, certainly thinks so.

Speaking on The 33rd Team, Vick sees one player on Carolina's roster who hasn't had the benefit of playing with elite talent around.

"DJ Moore hasn't gotten the quarterback he deserves," Vick said.

And to his point, since being taken in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft by Carolina, Moore has caught passes from an aging Cam Newton, Teddy Bridgewater, PJ Walker, Sam Darnold, and Baker Mayfield.

That's not really the cream of the crop of NFL quarterbacks, so has Moore's potential really been met?

He's put up three 1,000-plus-yard receiving seasons in a row, but Vick thinks his skillset is even bigger than what he's shown off in Carolina.

"I think this a guy you can plug and play anywhere on the outside, inside. Move him around. You can put him in the backfield. You can almost use him like a Deebo Samuel," Vick said. "So, hint-hint to some of the teams out there, take a look at this guy because he would be one of my guys that I would plug into my offense."

The are plenty of teams that could use a receiver like Moore, and as the Panthers proved by trading Christian McCaffrey, anybody can be available for the right return.

The Green Bay Packers could desperately use a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver. One would think the crafty New England Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick could look to get involved as well, or even the Los Angeles Rams — who don't seem to care at all about draft picks.

But what about the Dallas Cowboys? According to Vick, Dallas would be a great fit for a receiver like Moore.

"With Dak [Prescott] coming back after Cooper Rush stepped in and made it work...I look at this team after a quarter and a half of the season. You can put [Michael] Gallup inside. You've got CeeDee Lamb. You bring in a guy like DJ Moore who can just be one of those guys," Vick said.

Vick doesn't see Moore being the No. 1 option in Dallas like he would be in, let's say, Green Bay. But he believes Moore could be a massive complementary piece to Lamb.

He likened it to how Sammy Watkins complimented Tyreek Hill when both were playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.

"Every No. 1 needs a Co-No. 1 or strong No. 2," Vick explained. "You definitely need a compliment. I think that brings out the best in everybody."

"I would love to see DJ Moore end up in Dallas I think it's a great fit," the former NFL quarterback concluded.
