Michigan Legend Charles Woodson's Son Cracks National Recruit Rankings for 2027

Charles Woodson won the Heisman Trophy in 1997 on the strength of his three-way play on offense, defense and special teams.

The Ohio native led Michigan to a share of the 1997 National Championship as Lloyd Carr's team knocked off Ryan Leaf and the Washington State Cougars in the 1998 Rose Bowl.

On Thursday, Woodson's son was given recognition as part of the Class of 2027 from 247Sports.com, cinching the Lake Nona High School star from Orlando, Florida's standing as a prospect to watch in the near future.

"A very noteworthy entry into today's 2027 Top247? @2Charleswoodson," Steve Lorenz of 247 Sports wrote on Wednesday, tagging Charles Woodson, Jr., the son of Charles Woodson.

"He's the son of...you're not going to believe it, @CharlesWoodson."

Woodson, Jr. is now ranked as a four-star prospect by Lorenz's website after years flying under the radar.

The talented young Class of 2027 prospect is ranked 244th among all players nationally, 23rd among safety prospects.

His famous father has filled in as a coach this season at Lake Nona, lending his expertise to his son's team.

Michigan does not currently have any players in its 2027 class but Woodson Jr. has camped in Ann Arbor the last two summers.

Woodson, Jr. received his first major college offer from Syracuse coach Fran Brown earlier this year.
