Mike Evans continues to prove he's a Hall of Fame lock by setting records before Bucs' game against Falcons ends

Mike Evans is easily one of the best players in the history of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise and he may even be the best, period.

And while he's respected around the NFL, it's fair to argue he doesn't get the total respect he deserves. Far too often is the 11th-year player left off of top-10 lists and robbed of accolades he deserves. No matter what, he keeps finding ways to set records on a yearly basis.

Evans became the Bucs' all-time leading scorer in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles and he continued his record-setting pace in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons. Except this time around, he set records on the NFL-wide level.

Not only did Evans surpass Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer Michael Irvin for the 30th-most receiving yards in NFL history, but he also became just the 26th player to record 100 total touchdowns over the course of a career.

At the time both records were set, Evans had four receptions for 49-yards and two touchdowns with 6:17 left in the first half of the game. Evans and Baker Mayfield's already-efficient connection was on fire early and it helped the Bucs build a 17-14 lead.

We'll see how the rest of the game plays out, but it's impossible to deny Evans' greatness at this point and people are simply silly if they are doing that.
