Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a hamstring injury that has sidelined him for the past few weeks and is officially listed as questionable heading into Week 7’s matchup against the Detroit Lions. However, despite the designation, ESPN’s Adam Schefter expects the wide receiver to suit up for Monday Night Football. Saying he has “a real chance to play,” Evans should make his triumphant return to the lineup in a game that could have a massive impact on the playoff picture.

Mike Evans Injury Update: Buccaneers WR “Has A Real Chance to Play” Against Lions

Despite being on the wrong side of 30, Mike Evans was still a productive receiver before his hamstring injury. Through the first three games of the season, the future Hall of Famer caught 14 of his 28 targets for 140 yards and a touchdown while helping the team earn a 3-0 record. With Chris Godwin already ruled out and first-round phenomenon Emeka Egbuka a game-time decision himself, Evans should receive a sizable workload if he can play against the Lions.

The Buccaneers have stayed afloat without Evans and currently boast the best record in the NFC. Led by MVP candidate Baker Mayfield, the Buccaneers are 5-1 heading into Week 7 and just pulled off a convincing win over the San Francisco 49ers. The team has done this despite enduring an absurd number of injuries throughout the roster.

Mike Evans is one of the best and most consistent wide receivers of his time. The former first-round pick has 11 straight seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards and has made the Pro Bowl on six separate occasions, including the past two seasons with Baker Mayfield. The Texas A&M product also won a Super Bowl with Tom Brady in the 2020 season.
