Mike Gesicki has funny response to Caleb Williams' desire to team up on Dolphins

Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki tweeted a funny response to USC Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Caleb Williams' recent admission that he desired to be drafted by Miami.

The 21-year-old signal-caller won't be Draft eligible until next year, which led to Gesiciki's comment.

The Dolphins possibly already have their franchise quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa -- who recorded career highs in passing yards (3,548), passing touchdowns (25), yards gained per pass attempt (league-leading 8.9) and quarterback rating (league-leading 105.5) -- in 2022, despite four full games and parts of two others due to multiple concussions. Even with the breakout season, the Alabama product's playing career may still be somewhat up in the air due to his concussion history.

Miami placed the franchise tag on Gesicki in March 2022 after he set career highs in targets (112), receptions (73) and receiving yards (780) in 2021. After the Dolphins added Tyreek Hill last offseason, the 27-year-old Gesicki took a backseat to Hill and Waddle and dropped all the way down to 32 receptions on 52 targets for 362 yards in 2022, though he had five receiving touchdowns.

The tight end's targets, receptions and receiving touchdowns all ranked third on the team, though were well behind the pair of standout wide receivers.

Gesicki is currently slated to enter unrestricted free agency.
