Former ESPN Radio host Mike Golic will once again have to find a new home to share his sports takes with the rest of the world.
Golic has been part of the DraftKings Network since 2021. He hosts a daily show with his son Mike Golic Jr. called "GoJo & Golic." It streams live on Samsung TV Plus, Roku Channel and Google TV among other platforms. Although fans enjoy the show, their time with the network is about to come to an end.
DraftKings Network confirmed this week that Golic's agreement won't be renewed for 2025 and beyond. Their current contracts are reportedly set to expire in March.
"After careful consideration, DraftKings has decided not to renew agreements with Mike Golic Sr. and Mike Golic Jr. for GoJo and Golic. We want to thank the Golics for their contributions to DraftKings," the company said in a statement. "We remain focused on optimizing current and future content investments to continue to grow the audiences for DraftKings Network and DraftKingsNetwork.com."
Golic isn't exactly blindsided by this announcement. He told Barrett Media that he knew about this decision for a while. DraftKings Network informed them that it wanted to cut ties with its in-house produced shows.
So, what's next for Golic? According to Front Office Sports, Golic and his son have already had "exploratory talks" with Yahoo Sports. No deal is imminent at this time though.
The only guarantee right now is that Golic wants to continue working. At 62 years old, he still feels like there are plenty of miles left in the tank.
"I have a few years left in me – I still enjoy it," Golic said. "I drive my wife nuts if I’m not working by continuing to talk sports all the time, and she says I’m too young to retire, so I got a few years left in me and we enjoy working together."
Yahoo Sports isn't the only outlet showing interest in the Golics, per Front Office Sports. It'll be interesting to see where they end up.
