Mike McDaniel wants to see the Dolphins improve

The Miami Dolphins made the playoffs in head coach Mike McDaniel’s first season. The Dolphins came within three points of the Buffalo Bills on the road in their Wild Card contest. The Dolphins narrowly pulled the playoff upset with their third-string quarterback starting. McDaniel’s spoke to reporters at the League Annual Meeting about trying to win a playoff game next season.

According to the Dolphins website, McDaniel said the team is over the last postseason. He believes the AFC East division can help the Dolphins improve their chances of success in the playoffs:

“Getting to the playoffs is cool. (But we are) over that. You want to win. And so playing good teams in the regular season however on the front end might seem, ‘oh, that’s tough.’ What else would you want if you’re really trying to actually win playoff games? If you’re trying to actually get to the AFC Championship, if you’re trying to win the AFC Championship, if you’re trying to win the Super Bowl? All those things, you better be a very good team and battle tested and our division should help us do that.”

With a healthy Tua Tagovailoa next season, the team will have a better chance of winning the division.
