One of the biggest things the Minnesota Vikings needed to accomplish this offseason was secure the future of general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to a contract extension.
There were a lot of questions surrounding why it had been taking this long, with Adofo-Mensah himself even saying he was focused on other things. That ended on Friday morning, as the Vikings agreed to a multi-year extension with Adofo-Mensah.
There are many who don't believe that Adofo-Mensah has done a good job as the general manager, mainly because of the lack of success in the NFL Draft. There were some major whiffs in the NFL Draft, but the majority of them come from his first draft, where he only had three months to prepare.
What doesn't get enough credit for a large section of the fanbase is the success in both free agency and on the field. The Vikings are 34-17 under Adofo-Mensah and he's responsible for the most important hire this century: head coach Kevin O'Connell.
“Kwesi’s leadership, vision and collaboration with our coaching staff has positioned the Minnesota Vikings for sustained success,” said Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf via press release. “His dedication and forward-thinking approach have been instrumental in shaping our roster and future, and we are confident that under the guidance of him and Kevin O’Connell, we will continue to compete at the highest level as we pursue a championship for Vikings fans."
That wasn't the only move the Vikings made in the front office, as they gave out promotions to assistant general manager to both Ryan Grigson and Demitrius Washington.

Grigson and Washington have been Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s top lieutenants since he got to Minnesota. Now, a new contract for KAM, and new titles for his guys.
Both men, especially Grigson, have been known to be instrumental in helping Adofo-Mensah construct this team. Especially Grigson, who developed a relationship with Adofo-Mensah in Cleveland before joining him in Minnesota.
There might be some debate on whether or not this was a good idea, but there is one thing for certain: the Vikings were smart to get it done.
