The Minnesota Vikings are the first team outside of the Jacksonville Jaguars to have two international games in the same season. It's going to be interesting to see how things go for the Vikings, as they could end up with a major advantage, as both are considered road games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns.
Tickets went on sale for the Vikings' game against the Steelers in Dublin, Ireland, and things got really interesting with ticket sales.
It wasn't just that tickets for the game against the Steelers went on sale this Tuesday, it was how popular they were. They were so popular that Pat McAfee started talking about it on his show.
"The tickets for the Vikings Pittsburgh Steelers game in Dublin, Ireland are going on sale. There's people waiting in the queue. This queue has been a topic of conversation because of showcases, if the country is interested in the event or not. Obviously, I think musicians do this. Comedians do this. How many people actually want to buy the tickets or something? Tickets are for sale, and are you selling tickets? Is it soccer, which, I guess, is not selling any tickets, which is weird, the NFL in Dublin up over 600,000 people waiting in the queue. There's different numbers that have been popping up. Obviously, whenever you check in, it was at 620,000 I think one point somebody had it 608,000 there was down at 500 some 1000, a couple different points. Nonetheless, there's not a 700,000 seat stadium in Dublin, Ireland. So I do believe they sold that place out, and could sell out another place and another one and another one. Shout out to the iron Ireland fans, being big time football."
This kind of continued fan response is such a huge deal for the National Football League, especially since they want to expand their international footprint.
It's also cool that this many people want to go see the Vikings play football. It shouldn't be much of a surprise, as the Vikings have played four other games in Europe, all of which were sellouts.
