The Minnesota Vikings made a few roster moves on Wednesday. It was reported earlier in the day that the Vikings had brought back center Matt Cindric. The move appeared to be made due to injuries that weren't known on the offensive line.
Those injuries were revealed on Wednesday when the Vikings announced the signing of Cindric by waiving/injured offensive lineman Jeremy Flax and special teams ace NaJee Thompson.
Flax likely got injured in the Vikings 27-12 preseason win over the Cleveland Browns. He played in 21 total snaps, with 16 of them coming on the offensive line at left tackle.
The big surprise here is the inclusion of Thompson among the waived. Yes, Thompson had missed all of training camp due to a knee injury but he was on the right track to return to practice. He was a special teams ace for the Vikings last season, including recovering a fumble against the Green Bay Packers.
The Vikings now have one roster spot open.
