More Details Emerge from the Devastating T’Vondre Sweat DWI Arrest Prior to 2024 NFL Draft
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

More details have been released following the DWI arrest for T’Vondre Sweat, one of the top defensive tackles in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Texas Longhorns defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat is one of the top defensive interior prospects heading into the 2024 draft. He is currently rated in the top 100 players and is projected to be drafted within the first three rounds of the upcoming draft.

That may have changed following his DWI arrest on Sunday. More details following the arrest have been released.

T’Vondre Sweat DWI

Sweat’s blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) was measured at 0.105 percent. That’s more than 25 percent over the legal limit.

According to the affidavit, Sweat’s BAC was measured at 6:08 a.m., after the officer arrived on the scene of a two-car accident at 4:41 a.m. It took 87 minutes to measure Sweat’s BAC, which could mean that the level dropped from the time of the accident to the test being given.

A sobriety test was given, and then a blood test was administered.

Sweat’s Accident

Sweat found himself in this predicament due to a car accident. Officers on the scene ran an initial breath test and followed up with the proper testing to find the listed results.

No injuries, harm, or fatalities happened due to the accident.

It will be essential to see what steps take place next for Sweat’s legal process.

Risk of Drafting Sweat

Many impending details will need to be considered before anything is decided for T’Vondre, most of which will take place after the NFL Draft. Teams will have to take a risk on drafting a high-caliber player with ongoing legal charges against him.

The most important thing will be getting Sweat in the room and getting the information from the individual. Hopefully, NFL teams can find out some of the details that went into the night and what type of person he will be moving forward.
