Multiple teams reportedly remain interested in former Bengals DT Geno Atkins

The Cincinnati Bengals released Geno Atkins in March, and he still hasn't found a new home.

The star defensive tackle is coming off a torn rotator cuff that required surgery in January. He has a checkup scheduled in a few weeks with Dr. Dan Cooper, the Dallas Cowboys team physician, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who emphasizes that Atkins is not visiting with the Cowboys.

Atkins expects to be cleared by July 1 and multiple teams remain interested in signing him, Rapoport adds.

Atkins spent 11 seasons with the Bengals, making the Pro Bowl eight times. He was a first-team All-Pro in 2012, 2015 and 2016.

The 33-year-old recorded 75.5 sacks, 384 tackles, 100 tackles for a loss and 172 quarterback hits in 161 games.
