'My bad,' Will Smith taunts Tom Brady after Team Westbrook E1 win at Lake Como

Smith revealed that he spoke with the New England Patriots Hall of Famer before the race began to wish him and his team luck. Eventually, Smith’s team won, finishing ahead of Team Brazil and Team Rafa, who initially took the podium in the qualifying round.

Brady left a reply in the comment section. The 47-year-old wrote,

Smith told the Daily Mail about speaking with Tom Brady on FaceTime before the race.

I FaceTimed with Tom Brady just before the race and told him my entire childhood was spent with him beating my team, and I was like, it's not going to happen out here today. Will Smith said

Smith, who hails from Pennsylvania, is a massive Philadelphia Eagles fan. From the 2000s until the next two decades, he saw Brady win seven games against his favorite team. However, Smith did enjoy an Eagles Super Bowl win over the Patriots in 2018.

What is E1 racing that Tom Brady and Will Smith are raving about?

E1 is a new and unique racing on water with highspeed vehicles that are powered by batteries and electric motors, reaching speeds of up to 50 knots (25.8 mph). These speedboats are made from very light carbon fiber and weigh close to 800 kg, or 1763.7 lbs.

The more popular speedboat events use much heavier machines with standard two people (pilot and navigator) controlling them. However, only one pilot is required inside an E1 racing machine.

Nine teams signed up for the second year of the tournament. Stars like Tom Brady, Will Smith, Formula 1 driver Sergio Perez, tennis star Rafael Nadal, former soccer player  Didier Drogba , singer Marc Anthony, and DJ Steve Aoki are the owners of one individual team each.

Brady’s team has three wins under their belt at Jeddah, Venice, and Monaco, followed by Team Miami, Smith’s Team Westbrook, Team Drogba, and Team Rafa rounding out the top five positions.
