Myles Bryant drops true Patriot quote on why he'd consider re-signing
Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

FOXBOROUGH, Mass - Despite not consistently being recognized for his efforts, Myles Bryant has become a top defender for the New England Patriots since joining the team in 2020.

With all the injuries throughout this year, he has been the one consistent. Yet, the cornerback is set to become a free agent once the season ends.

Speaking exclusively with A to Z Sports, Bryant opened up about how he is feeling heading into this uncertain period.

“I haven’t really thought much about it," Bryant said. "I feel like in the middle of the season, that can be a distraction. So just trying to finish out these next two games the best I can and try to help the team the best I can.”

However, he did provide a little context into how he feels about potentially returning to New England.

“Yeah, I mean, I love it here," he said. "I love the coaching staff, especially the locker room, and everything about being a Patriot. And I feel like every time you step into the building, you got to try to mirror the greatness - just all the guys that have come before me. So I for sure like having to try to uphold the standard here.”

So in short, if there is mutual interest, Bryant isn't ruling anything out.

“Yeah for sure," Bryant explained. "I mean I don’t want to submit anything, but if that’s the case, then for sure that can happen.”

Across his four years with the Patriots, Bryant has recorded 200 total tackles, with two sacks, three forced fumbles, four interceptions, and 17 passes defended.

However, there are some changes that could shake up the entire Patriots organization. And that starts with Bill Belichick.

The six-time Super Bowl head coach is all the talk at the moment, with rumors circling around about a possible mutual parting of ways. So if that happens, it could change how Bryant approaches free agency.

“I think it’s something we’d have to sit down during that time and figure that out," he said. "I don’t have any control over that, they don’t have any control over that. So it’s just something if it came up, we’d have to talk about it.”
