Myles Garrett Discusses DPOY Drama with Watt Before 'TNF'
Jeff Lange / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Cleveland Browns will look to kickoff Week 12 with an upset when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers on "Thursday Night Football."

After entering the 2024 season with playoff hopes following a postseason berth in 2023, the Browns' playoff chances are extremely low at 2-8. However, the team still has a chance to play spoiler against the Steelers, who are currently at the top of the AFC North at 8-2.

The game will also showcase two of the best defenders in the entire NFL in Myles Garrett and TJ Watt. Both players have combined for two Defensive Player of the Year awards after both being selected in the 2017 draft.

While there does seem to be some mutual respect between the two rivals, there was some drama back in February, when Garrett was named the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year over Watt. Following the news, Watt took to social media to share his frustrations, simply posting, "Nothing I'm not used to."

Prior to Thursday's matchup, Garrett took issue with Watt's response when asked about it in a press conference.

"I've never complained about the trophy not being at my house or vice versa," said Garrett. "He shouldn't feel two ways about it going to me. I don't play against T.J. He doesn't play against me."

When asked if the two players have spoken about Watt's post, Garrett had some fun with his response.

"No, he didn’t say nothing to me," Garrett said with a smile. "He’s going to have to apologize when I see him."
