Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has already put together an impressive career. In nine seasons, he's accumulated 412 tackles, 149 tackles for loss, 125.5 sacks, 23 forced fumbles and 18 pass deflections. He has also had five first-team All-Pro selections, two second-team All-Pro selections and seven Pro Bowl appearances
However, for the seventh time since being drafted with the No. 1 pick by the Browns in 2017, Cleveland missed the playoffs. They went just 5-12 and finished in last place in the AFC North for the second straight year.
Despite the Browns' failure to put together wins, Garrett had an impressive season.
He started all 17 games, racking up 60 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, 23 sacks, 39 quarterback hits, 53 pressures and 14 quarterback knockdowns. His 23 sacks broke the single-season record, surpassing T.J. Watt (22.5) and Michael Strahan (22.5).
He's already earned several recognitions, including a first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection. On Wednesday, though, he was named the Professional Football Writers of America Defensive Player of the Year. This is the second time he's earned the honor, also doing so in 2023.

Garrett was also the only Browns player named to the 2025 PFWA All-AFC Team. He's now earned that honor for six straight seasons, dating back to 2020.
He and Cleveland now find themselves in offseason mode. After firing Kevin Stefanski, the team is searching for a new head coach.
While the team faces several uncertainties, Garrett is not one of them. After signing a four-year, $160 million extension, he is under contract with Cleveland through the 2030 season.
