The 2025 NASCAR playoffs will have to compete with the NFL for TV ratings this fall.
On Wednesday night, the NFL unveiled its full schedule for the 2025 season. After sorting through all 32 teams' schedules, it became apparent that four teams will host regular-season games while a NASCAR playoff race is taking place just a short trip away from their respective stadium.
It all starts with a Sept. 21 race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. On that same day, the New England Patriots will host the Pittsburgh Steelers at Gillette Stadium.
On Sept. 28, the Kansas City Chiefs will square off against the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium. The Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway will also take place on that day.
While NASCAR keeps things rolling with at Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval on Oct. 5, the Carolina Panthers will take on the Miami Dolphins.
The fourth and final date were NASCAR and the NFL will clash is on Oct. 12. The next round of the playoffs will begin on that date with the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Las Vegas Raiders will host the Tennessee Titans that afternoon.
Although the Cup Series will wrap things up at Phoenix Raceway on Nov. 2, it won't interfere with the Arizona Cardinals' schedule. That's because they'll be on the road for a "Monday Night Football" game.
It'll be interesting to see if NASCAR's schedule overlapping with the NFL's ends up hurting the ratings.
Earlier this week, Fox Sports revealed that it averaged 3.36 million viewers for 12 races this season. While its numbers were mostly flat, the network did see growth (7%) among adults in the 18-49 demographic.
