National outlet completely disrespects Rams running back Kyren Williams in latest rankings

Kyren Williams missed a portion of the 2023 season and still finished among the league's best in rushing yards. That is by no accident of the Rams.

However, a recent ranking of the top 32 best running backs places Williams in the middle of the list, disregarding his outstanding breakout season as an anomaly.

Pro Football Focus ranked Williams as the No. 16-best running back in the league, under names like Isiah Pacheco (No. 15), Tony Pollard (No. 14), Raheem Moster (No. 13) and Kenneth Walker III (No. 12). It makes no sense.

"Kyren Williams exploded in his second season in the NFL, earning an 80.3 grade across 12 games. In those outings, Williams rushed for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns at 5.0 yards per carry, and he also led the league in rushing yards per game," writes  Thomas Valentine, a fantasy contributor for Pro Football Focus.

"He forced the 10th-most missed tackles, averaged 3.34 yards after contact and racked up 26 explosive runs of 10-plus yards. He’ll continue to feature in the Rams' offense moving forward."

Williams should undoubtedly be in the top 10 of the list. Every running back named above him, the 23-year-old is better than.

Yes, Williams' first year was quite lackadaisical. But if the measure of the 32-best running backs in the league is based on the 2023 season, there is no argument against Williams belonging on the list above most names.

Williams is a better player than the likes of Pollard and Walker. It is quite clear that the national voices weren't paying attention to how good the Los Angeles Rams running back was during the team's resurgent 2023 season.
