The Green Bay Packers receiving corps around Jordan Love is slowly but surely getting healthier.
Christian Watson is hitting his stride and vaulting to the top of Love’s target hierarchy amid one of the most dominant stretches of his career. Sunday against the Chicago Bears, both Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden were back on the field.
Even more help, though, could be on the way for Love and Green Bay’s offense.
Dontayvion Wicks is battling an ankle injury, but getting back to full strength could be a real shot in the arm for Love and the rest of Green Bay’s passing game at large.
“He’s been battling through that, and I would say it is day-to-day,” LaFleur told reporters, of Wicks. “He was limited in practice, so we’ll see how he progresses. But certainly we need him out there.
“He’s a guy, you could see it early in the routes he was running. There was one in particular, might’ve been the first play of the game, where Jaylon Johnson is pressed on him, and his ability to get a guy to move off the spot is pretty impressive.”
Appearing in 10 games this season, but missing Sunday’s clash against the Bears after injuring his ankle in Detroit on Thanksgiving, Wicks has caught 26 passes for 307 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
