At one point during the 2024 season, the Jacksonville Jaguars seemed to be the favorites for the number one overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Then they won two of their final five matchups and now own the fifth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. In a recent A to Z Sports mock draft, though, they landed the same player most wanted them to target at one, without even moving up.

"Hunter is the best player in the draft and the Jaguars are thrilled. He will play opposite of Tyson Campbell and likely have some plays on offense with Trevor Lawrence."
- Recent A to Z Sports mock draft
The topic all draft cycle surrounding Travis Hunter will be "Is he a corner or wide receiver?" and it's an important question. For the Jaguars, though, the answer should be "who cares."
They have a need at both spots and on paper, they seem like one of the few spots across the league that might allow him to play both sides of the ball. Hunter is a certified playmaker who would fit nicely next to Tyston Campbell in the Jaguars secondary and would form a lethal WR duo with Brian Thomas Jr.
If the Jaguars get the chance to do this, they should run the card. The fit is so good that it may even be worth exploring a possible trade-up to make it happen. Pair this selection in the 2025 NFL Draft with also hitting on their head coach selection, and the Jaguars just might be back in the playoff discussion next year.
