The Houston Texans picked up a major win during the NFL's Wildcard weekend over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Now they head to Arrowhead to take on the reigning back-to-back Super Bowl winners in the Kansas City Chiefs

While they continue to fight for the franchise's first Super Bowl victory, the team will need to address multiple glaring needs in the upcoming offseason. In a recent A to Z Sports mock draft, they filled a need by landing a talent born and raised in the great city of Houston.

A recent mock draft has the Texans keeping Texas star WR Matthew Golden in the state

"Golden has been a fast riser in the process with the class being weaker at the position. The Houston transfer goes back to play for the Texans where he will complement Nico Collins very well."

- Recent A to Z Sports mock draft

Before Matthew Golden was a Longhorn in 2024, he spent two seasons at his hometown school of Houston. He set new career highs across the board this past season at Texas with 58 receptions, 987 yards, and nine touchdowns.

The Texans' wide receiver room could look very different come Week 1 of next season. With Stefon Diggs set to become a free agent and Tank Dell having a long road back from his recent devasting injury, Golden would be a solid complement to Nico Collins. This move could help CJ Stroud hit the road running in 2025 and hopefully leave some of the struggles we saw in 2024 behind him.
