The Los Angeles Rams use a late-season surge to win the NFC West and pick up a playoff win over the Minnesota Vikings in the Wildcard round.

They came up short in the Divisonal round against the Philadelphia Eagles, though. They now enter the offseason with some pretty big questions looming, such as the future of aging star players like Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford. A new A to Z Sports mock draft has them preparing for life without at least one of them.

Rams land Texas WR Matthew Golden to replace Cooper Kupp in a new mock draft

"The Rams have to start finding more offensive playmakers with age catching up to Cooper Kupp and a lack of talent surrounding Matthew Stafford. They can't just rely on Puka Nacua.

Matthew Golden's name has skyrocketed up in conversations the last few weeks, thanks to some terrific play in the college football playoffs. He has a knack for getting open with ease, catches everything, and is a talented blocker. The Rams need that kind of outside receiving threat to open up the offense, and Golden fits what they look for to a T."

One of the players who has helped his draft stock the most over the last couple of months has been Texas Longhorns wide receiver Matthew Golden. The Houston transfer put up the best season of his three-year college career this past year after joining Texas. He set new career highs with 58 receptions, 987 yards, and nine touchdowns.

Golden's speed and route running seem like the perfect complement to Puka Nacua in the Rams' offense. And it would help them not miss a beat if they elect to move on from Kupp this offseason. Matthew Stafford likely doesn't have too many years of strong play left in the tank, so reloading at WR to prepare to compete in 2025 has to be a priority for the team if Kupp is moved elsewhere.
