New details have emerged regarding the arrest of San Francisco 49ers owner and CEO Jed York.
York was caught by a sting after accessing a known prostitution website and arranging a meeting to pay for sex, according to Edward Lewis of the California Post. York allegedly paid $140 for the encounter, which was to take place in a trailer park in East Palestine, Ohio.
York was arrested when he arrived for the encounter, and the cell phone he used to arrange the meeting was seized by officials. That led to a charge of possessing criminal tools. He was initially charged with engaging in prostitution, but ultimately pled no contest to the lesser charge of disorderly conduct as part of a plea deal.
York was sentenced to one day in jail, but was given credit for time served. He has already been released from custody.
The 49ers and the NFL have both acknowledged York’s arrest, but refused further comment. The league could act against him, but that decision is unlikely to come anytime soon.
York has been married to Danielle Belluomini for over a decade, and the couple shares two sons.
