Biggest Games on the Patriots' 2025 Schedule

Patriots at Tennessee Titans: This is arguably the biggest game on New England's schedule simply because it's Vrabel's homecoming. He will return to Tennessee for the first time since being fired, with a chance to not only come out on top, but also take down the No. 1 overall pick (QB Cam Ward).

Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills: While Buffalo is the unanimous choice to be the AFC East division winners, some have the Patriots making a push for a wildcard spot. And if that's the case, every game against a division rival will be important, but especially Buffalo.

Patriots vs. Atlanta Falcons: A battle of the 2024 first round quarterbacks. Neither Maye nor Penix Jr. were named the starter at the beginning of their rookie seasons, but now, they are set to lead their teams in 2025.

Strength of Schedule (based off Vegas win totals, not 2024 record)

Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis does this cool thing every year where he ranks teams' strength of schedule based off Vegas' projected win totals for the upcoming season.

Sharp has the Patriots' SOS as the second-easiest. Only the San Francisco 49ers have a easier schedule.

Revenge Games on the Patriots' 2025 schedule

  • Mike Vrabel's return to Tennessee: No explanation needed for this one...
  • Stefon Diggs vs. the Buffalo Bills: After spending four seasons with the Bills and leaving on some uncertain terms, the new Patriots receiver will now get the opportunity to face his former team twice a season. The Bills are New England's toughest competition in the AFC East, but with the changes the Patriots have made this offseason including adding Diggs, this could make for two very competitive games.
  • Patriots vs. Chris Godwin and the Buccaneers: The Patriots reportedly made a contract offer of up to $30 million a year, however, he chose to stay with the Buccaneers, signing a three-year, $66 million contract. The best way to make him regret that decision is to get the win.

3 Must-watch Matchups

  • Season Opener against Raiders: Considering all the Patriots-Raiders connections, whether it's Pete Carroll, Josh McDaniels, or Tom Brady, this game will be a fun one to watch.
  • Patriots vs. Titans in Tennessee: As we've said above, this is a matchup that everyone will have their eye on simply because it's Vrabel returning back to Tennessee.
  • Patriots vs. Carolina Panthers: Drake Maye gets to face off against his hometown team
