The New England Patriots could go many different directions with the No. 4 pick in the draft. That is the benefit of having an established franchise quarterback in Drake Maye.
One of their most significant needs is the offensive line, which they would address in Lance Zierlein's of NFL.com's mock draft.
In his mock, the Patriots selected Will Campbell, an offensive tackle out of LSU. While it does address a need, there has been lots of talk about whether Campbell would play tackle or guard in the NFL.
If Campbell were considered more of an interior lineman than a left tackle, taking him at No. 4 would be an enormous reach.
The LSU lineman played left tackle throughout his collegiate career, so he has the experience to play the position. The main knock on him is his short arm length compared to most NFL left tackles.
On paper, this pick makes a lot of sense, given how abysmal the line did at protecting Maye this past season, but a trade-down may be better if New England wants to address that need early in the draft.
The NFL draft combine could dictate plenty about how teams feel about Campbell, including the Patriots.
He could become an extremely enticing pick at or a complete pass for a player such as defensive lineman Mason Graham or two-way star Travis Hunter.
Either way, every New England fan should agree the offensive line needs to be addressed, whether in the draft or free agency.
