Tragedy has befallen the family of three-time Super Bowl champion and New England Patriots legend Kevin Faulk as his daughter unexpectedly lost her life this past week.
According to the Acadiana Advocate via the New York Post, 30-year-old Tanasha Faulk passed away at the Oschner Lafayette Medical Center in Louisiana on Saturday. No cause of death has been announced but there is no investigation into foul play either.
Faulk's obituary highlights her love of cooking, sense of humor and events with the family. She was a 2014 graduate of Carencro High School - the same school where her father was a championship-winning quarterback in 1992.
“Being their mother brought her so much joy and she was immensely proud watching them grow and learn,” her obituary said. “Tanasha also found joy in holidays, birthdays, family gatherings, and especially Mardi Gras. She loved to cook and was happiest when preparing meals that brought people together. Her generosity, laughter, and loving nature created a sense of home wherever she went.”

Kevin Faulk enjoyed a highly successful 13-year NFL career with the New England Patriots, becoming one of the most versatile and reliable running backs in franchise history. Drafted in the second round in 1999 out of LSU, Faulk quickly earned a role as a dual-threat back who could run between the tackles, catch passes out of the backfield, and contribute on special teams. While he was never a featured, high-volume rusher, his value came from doing everything well: third-down conversions, screen plays, pass protection, and clutch performances in critical moments. His consistency helped define the early years of the Patriots dynasty.
Faulk played a key role in three Super Bowl championships (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX) and remained a favorite of both Bill Belichick and Tom Brady due to his football IQ and reliability. He finished his career with over 3,600 rushing yards, 3,700 receiving yards, and 36 total touchdowns, along with numerous postseason highlights. Faulk retired after the 2011 season as the Patriots’ all-time leader in all-purpose yards, and his impact was later honored when he was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame in 2016.
In the years since his retirement, Faulk has gone into coaching. He served as the offensive coordinator at Carencro High School from 2013 to 2017 before being hired as the director of player development by LSU head coach Ed Orgeron in 2018.
During his two-year run in the role, the Tigers won the national title in 2019.
Following a series of coaching changes, Faulk was named the Tigers' running backs coach and served in the role until 2021.
Since 2022, he has been the running backs coach of the New York Giants.
Our hearts go out to Faulk's family and loved ones.
