Josh Allen came up just short of leading the Buffalo Bills to another comeback win on Sunday, and the star quarterback may have also aggravated a lingering injury in the process.
Allen was seen limping as he left the field following a drive in the third quarter of the Bills' 13-12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17. He appeared a bit hobbled for the remainder of the game, but he did not miss a play and still scored a pair of rushing touchdowns while trying to lead Buffalo back from a 13-0 deficit.
Allen's second rushing touchdown cut Philadelphia's lead to 13-12 with five seconds remaining in the game. Bills head coach Sean McDermott decided to attempt a two-point conversion and go for the win, but Allen missed a wide-open receiver in the back of the end zone.
Following the game, Allen underwent X-rays on his foot. McDermott said the X-rays came back negative. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media said on Monday that he expects Allen to be limited in practice during the week but to play in Buffalo's season finale against the New York Jets in Week 18.
"Josh Allen has continuously said the ankle is fine, the foot is fine, there's no issue," Rapoport said. "The second straight game, though, that he has left the game and finished the game in whatever form he did and then went right into the X-ray room. He came back and said X-rays were negative. But, clearly, if you want to check something after a game, something is bothering him."

Allen left the Bills' game against the Browns last week and underwent X-rays, which also came back negative. He returned to the game in the second half and did just enough to stave off a late comeback attempt.
Though Allen does not appear to have any fractured bones or ligament damage, it seems like he has been playing through some pain over the past two games. The Bills have clinched a playoff berth and are fighting for a higher seed in their final game of the season, but they may also try to protect Allen from injuring himself further.
