New intel suggests the Pittsburgh Steelers have their eye on a low-risk, high-reward 2026 NFL Draft prospect at quarterback

Here is the 2026 NFL Draft prospect that teams in the NFL are loving, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are one of them.

While we don’t know a lot about the 2026 NFL Draft, what we do know is that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be adding a quarterback. That will likely be on day three, and judging the Steelers’ visits, that tracks.

Well, there is one name in the draft, who many people don’t know about, but who could be drafted this weekend, and the Steelers have shown some interest in him.

Jack Strand is making noise ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft

Strand is a Division II quarterback from Minnesota State Moorhead. I spoke with Ryan Roberts, who is a part of the NFL Draft team here at A to Z Sports, and here is what the Steelers would be getting.

“Jack Strand entered the 2025 college football season with some draftable feedback from the NFL due to his intriguing blend of size, arm strength, and production. He was able to participate at the North Dakota State Pro Day, where he was able to compete in front of 29 NFL teams. He was able to have private meetings with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots during the event, who both had their quarterback coaches in attendance.”

“Strand has also had 30 visits with the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons during the process, as well. At nearly 6-4 and 243 pounds, Strand is an intriguing pocket passer with one of the stronger arms in the class. Don’t be surprised if a team chooses to use a late round selection to secure the developmental signal caller.” – Roberts

We know the Steelers are open to adding talent from smaller schools in the later rounds, and they only have two players, Will Howard and Mason Rudolph, on the roster at quarterback. I would love to see him in camp in Latrobe, just for development if nothing else.
