New Jalen Ramsey Trade Projection Sends Him To The AFC West

The Jalen Ramsey/Miami Dolphins trade situation feels more like a matter of "when" rather than "if" at this point.

Whilst Ramsey is not the Defensive Player of the Year caliber player he once was, he remains a high-level starting corner that could easily be CB1 for multiple NFL teams.

And with the dearth of quality cornerbacks in the NFL compared to wideouts and running backs, franchises are more often than not willing to shell out in order to acquire or keep top talent at the position.

With Adam Schefter's revelation that there is more interest amongst teams in trading for Ramsey than originally believed, it tracks that he may well go a different team than the widely believed front-runner for services, the Los Angeles Rams

Consequently, one franchise that makes substantial sense is the Rams' local rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, who took a big step in 2025 with new head coach, Jim Harbaugh.

The Chargers addressed multiple needs in the draft, including running back and defensive tackle, however the cornerback position was left untouched, save for seventh round pick, Trikweze Bridges.

And whilst the team bought in Donte Jackson and Benjamin St Juste in the offseason to compete for a starting role on the perimeter with 2024 fifth round pick, Cam Hart, neither is really believed to be a bona fide #1 corner in the NFL.

The team needs to replace the departure of Asante Samuel Jr., who remains a free agent after undergoing neck surgery in April, and LA feels like a great spot for Ramsey to land, particularly with the franchise crying out for more legitimate stars.

Miami Dolphins get: 2026 fourth round pick
