The move by New Orleans signing Landry is excellent, but it’s also something special for him.

Landry Is A Product Of Louisiana From Birth

The Saints newest receiver is a home-grown product of Louisiana.

He was born in Convent Louisiana and now is back in his home state playing for his home team.

However, his journey in football started in Louisiana as well.

He got his start in high school football playing for Lutcher High School.

From there, he attended Louisiana State University.

Landry made a name for himself with NFL scouts while at LSU.

During his time there, he was one of the most productive receivers for LSU.

He finished his time there with 137 catches for 1,809 yards and 15 touchdowns.

It was these things that led to him being drafted in the second round by the Miami Dolphins.

Landry Now Gets To Play For His Hometown Team

Most NFL players don’t get to play for their hometown team.

Both Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are products of California, yet never got to play for the San Francisco 49ers.

However, Landry now gets an opportunity that those two MVP players never got.

But now he’s playing for his hometown team, which means there’s pressure on him to perform.

He has a quarterback that’s known for having lots of passing yards each season.

However, that same quarterback also had a history of throwing many interceptions.

So it could be difficult for him to perform if Winston falls back into his old ways.

But if Winston keeps playing like he did last season, Landry should be fine with producing in New Orleans.

Can Landry Give New Orleans The Edge They Need To Make The Playoffs?

The most important thing for New Orleans and their fan base is making the playoffs.

Everyone is interested to see if he can help the team make the 2022 playoffs.

If you examine his last two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, there might not be much hope for him helping.

2021 saw him with 52 receptions for 570 yards and only two touchdowns.

The season before that saw him with 72 receptions for 840 yards and three touchdowns.

However, he’s played through injuries in his last two seasons, leading to some of the downward production from him.

But he only missed two games in 2020.

If he isn’t fully recovered from his injuries, he might not be much help in New Orleans.

However, if he’s back at 100%, he could help improve a New Orleans offense needing playmakers in 2022.

The first game of the Saints season will show if he is that playmaker.
