New Orleans Saints Are Expanding The Role Of Taysom Hill In 2023
Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Saints are not giving up on Taysom Hill. The gadget player has seen his role shift depending on the needs of the team. He has played quarterback, tight end, and running back and has flourished. In 2023, the Saints are looking to expand his role even more.

New Orleans Saints Taysom Hill

It seems that the Saints are going to try him out more at wide receiver. Hill revealed this fact in an interview after one of the practices.

“I think maybe doing more as, like, a receiver. I think that’s kind of stuff that hasn’t been explored a ton with me here. The throwing stuff as a quarterback or running, you know, that’s stuff we’ve been doing that for a long time, and that’s come really natural for me. I think running routes and catching balls and stuff that was a foreign thing for me, and I also think because of that we haven’t done a ton of it, and I think there’s some opportunities there that we just haven’t explored yet.”

Hill seems excited about the opportunity and being as he would not be the first option, it might just work.

Always Seems To Be Productive

No matter what the Saints do, it always seems like Hill has a decent season. While he isn’t going to lead the league in any category or be in anyone’s MVP race, he always seems to make big plays in big moments for the team. As the starting quarterback, he is 7-2. Last year he rushed for just over 500 yards and seven scores. He added a couple of receiving touchdowns to his stat line as well. No matter how obvious it might be, opposing teams simply cannot stop him.

Derek Carr is now the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. Taysom Hill might get some good opportunities now that a better quarterback is behind center.
