The New Orleans Saints add a 6-foot-7 offensive lineman to the trenches.

The Saints are signing former UFL tackle Barry Wesley after a minicamp tryout, per Aaron Wilson.

Wesley, 25, played college football at Colorado State. The versatile lineman switched between guard and tackle during his collegiate career and earned the Albert C. Yates Student Leadership Award in 2019 for his leadership and mentorship.

The large offensive lineman went undrafted in 2022 and signed with the Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League in December 2022. Wesley's IFL career didn't last long, however, as he would sign with the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL in January 2023.

Wesley would finally get his first NFL chance with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023. He alternated between the practice squad and the 53-man roster before being released in 2024. He has yet to take an official NFL snap.

Wesley signed with the Birmingham Stallions in 2024 and started 8 games for the UFL franchise.

The Saints have kept a close eye on multiple UFL players, signing tight end Seth Green earlier on Wednesday and bringing in OL Vitaliy Gurman for a tryout during minicamp. The team is looking to add young players with pro experience and has turned to the spring football leagues to add to their team.

Head coach Kellen Moore has emphasized the importance of having a stable offensive line with depth. Wesley's combination of size and versatility makes him a stronger candidate for the 53-man roster, but he has a long road ahead of him. With the Saints' history of injuries and inconsistencies on the offensive line, Wesley may earn a spot if he can impress in training camp and preseason.
