New Orleans Saints veteran defensive back Tyrann Mathieu has been with the team since the 2022 season. While he hasn’t earned a Pro Bowl nod yet during his time with the Saints, one thing about the former LSU Tigers star safety is that he’s always been available for the NFC South team. In fact, he has played in every game since he signed with New Orleans.
Despite the Saints’ consistent presence on the field, Mathieu has yet to taste significant team success with the Saints. New Orleans has not been to the NFL playoffs since 2020.
The Saints have also not won more than nine games in a season since Drew Brees hung up his cleats. In the 2024 NFL season, the Saints went just 5-12 to finish last in the NFC South division standings.
On Saturday, Mathieu shared a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that read: “Enough is Enough.”

Mathieu, who just turned 33 years old on May 13, recorded three interceptions with 62 combined tackles in 2024 for the Saints, who were just 28th in the league with an average of 238.5 points allowed per outing.
