New Orleans Saints' updated salary cap space after post-June 1st cuts

The New Orleans Saints have navigated a tough, uphill climb during their offseason. Everyone discusses their cap situation on an annual basis, and it was another tall task in 2024. They've created a chunk of space while also addressing some needs in free agency.

After signing their entire rookie class, it's a bit clearer now much cap space the Saints have. Plus, they received some cap relief due to the post-June 1st cuts of Michael Thomas and Jameis Winston.

How much cap space does New Orleans have after their post-June 1st cuts?

The Saints are projected just under $5.5 million in cap space as of now.

That figure is via OverTheCap.

That number ranks 30th in the NFL. The next-closest cap space situation are the Baltimore Ravens at just under $6M.

The Saints were way behind the eight-ball to start the offseason. That being said, that's nothing new. They've began the past handful of offseasons that way, and their front office has made moves to become cap compliant.

Now, the major question is whether or not New Orleans will use some of that money for more veteran depth or a key remaining free agent or not. They could just keep it in their back pocket in case of a trade/signing during the season. The Saints could even keep it for it to roll over to next offseason.
