The New Orleans Saints have been a creature of habit over the years. This offseason, they've broken some habits with a new coaching staff and some new roster pieces. Regardless, they are planning to treat one part of their offseason in a similar way to years past when it comes to practice.

New Orleans will face the Chargers to open their preseason action on August 10th at 3:05 CT. The Saints will travel to SoFi Stadium for that matchup. New Orleans does not play the Chargers during the regular season.

Often, joint practices can serve as a simulation of the preseason game, or perhaps better, given the number of reps that starters receive against the opposing team's starters.
The Saints are used to making the trip out west late in the summer in order to get some useful reps in against players who won't dawn the black and gold. It sounds like that trend will continue in 2025 with these practices alongside Jim Harbaugh's Chargers.
