New Patrick Mahomes Development Goes Public on Wednesday

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs avoided their second losing streak of the 2025 NFL season with a 30-17 win over Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions in Week 6’s edition of “Sunday Night Football.” Mahomes was nearly flawless against Dan Campbell’s defense, completing 22 of 30 passes (73.3%) for 257 yards and three touchdowns and zero interceptions while posting a season-high 132.2 passer rating. He also added a rushing score.

Entering the matchup with the Lions, Mahomes had 26 career games with three or more touchdowns and no interceptions, good for the 12th-most in NFL history. After his performance against Detroit, he now has 27 such games, moving into a tie for 11th on the all-time list.

Mahomes now ties former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan on the all-time list , who recorded 27 games with three or more touchdowns and zero interceptions during his 15-year career. The Chiefs quarterback now trails Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford for 10th on the list by one.

Not only that, but Mahomes now also holds the most games with those numbers since becoming Kansas City’s full-time starter in 2018, his second year in the league. The Chiefs shared the stat on X following Mahomes’ second AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.

Mahomes still has a long way to go if he wants to break the record for most games with three or more touchdowns and no picks. New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Tom Brady holds the top mark with 242 such games, followed by Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers at 233.
