New practice footage shows that Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Tyree Wilson is looking like a monster
Annie Rice/Avalanche-Journal / USA TODAY NETWORK

It's disheartening to see some Las Vegas Raiders fans already labeling Tyree Wilson, the seventh overall pick from last year's draft, as a bust. Let's not forget the immense potential he still holds.

He did not have an offseason, as he prepared for the draft while also rehabbing a foot injury. He didn't have a training camp. He was basically just thrown into the league. Not to mention, when the defense as a whole was better in the second half of the season, he was much better.

Wilson has gotten in much better shape this offseason, has worked with Maxx Crosby all offseason, and is starting to look like a monster. It's just a practice video, but one of the recent videos the Raiders posted showed Wilson being extremely violent to the dummy bags.

Wilson is making a big leap, and it's already noticeable. We will have to see a lot more on the field before he jumps Malcolm Koonce as that starting edge rusher. However, he looks to be in good enough shape to play defensive tackle on obvious passing downs.

I would like to reiterate that Wilson is not a full-time defensive tackle only because Raiders fans need to think he is. That's not how that works.

But, he is looking to be very locked in and prepared for 2024. It has to be exciting if you're a fan of this team.
